HT leads popping out of place
HT leads popping out of place
Hello guys.
Since fitting my coilovers a little under a year ago, i've noticed that my HT leads always seem to be never fully sunk into there slot. It seems that when i'm driving that general bumps cause the leads to jump out of position, which causes my engine not to spark correctly (have a lurching affect when i accelerate)
Does anyone else have this problem or noticed it and have a solution???
Thanks, Mat

the problem is that cause you havent got an engine cover on, this is why your leads are coming off. it stops them moving...
All sorted
Well as some of you said, the plugs were loose.
I drove down to Kent on Monday and it was such a bind having no acceleration. Decided to bite the bullet and just get a full set of plugs and leads.
So i then go round to my ex girl friends house, who's dad is a dab hand at mechanical stuff. As he was replacing them, he talked me through some stuff which was well useful. He told me 3 of the plugs were too loose. Because they're not tight enough, the pressures which get built up when the cylinder moves are escaping slightly causing the leads to pop up. Funnily enough aswell, the 1 spark plug that was in properly was in the best condition.
So there you go guys. If you are experiencing lurching when accelerating or you notice your leads popping up........check your plugs.

How much were the new plugs and leads? I think mine is starting to do this.
It sometimes hard to start up, it splutters and does all sorts sometime. My mate pushed one of the leads/spark plugs in and it was fine, but it has started doing it again.
So i think my problem is the spark plugs/leads. As its new, id rather just replace the whole lot, just to eliminate that possiblity
Cheers
