New front badges

TDI Grille badge made from a GT badge, bit of plasticard and a new badge and hey presto!

finally a nice freshly sprayed VW badge (thank you Tom!!!

)

How did you go about prepping the front badge. Does the chrome bit seperate from the black backing? I wanna do mine, just can't find the time and am a bit to impatient i think! lol

What bits do I need?

I will need a red D&I I dont know if they ever done a golf one on the front with that colour combo?

Part's needed;
*Polo GT Badge
*Sheet of plasticard (from a model shop for about 80p for an A4 sheet)
*Plastic glue
*TDi Badge
*Wet and dry sandpaper (i used grade 2000)

Process;
*Remove GT badge a used wet and dry to smooth the grill badge back down, leaving no sticky residue from the old badges
*Cut some Plasticard to the size of the TDi badge
*Apply glue to grille badge and put plasticard on it - i used a clamp to hold it in place overnight
* When dry stick the TDI badge on and i left it in a warm dry place for a day
*Put on grille and admire!

If your doing it for a Golf rather than a Polo you may need a grille badge off a Golf such as V5, GTI...as i dont know if the Polo GT grille badge fits the golf grille.

nice touch, black badges look good too. I did my rear one but it only lasted a couple of weeks before some kids nicked it

Ahh so you actually use the rear sticky badge off a TDI and stick that to the plasticard!

Very clever, so I could get a red D&I
