i have the mk3 coupe, my origianl clocks dint have the rev counter, but i got some and i fitted them , only problem is they wont stop bleeping at me when i have the engine on, also the oil light flashes? the polo handbook says that if the oil pressure is low then the light will flash, but dosent say anything about bleeping? also i never had a problem before i swaped them over, the car runs fine and has oil in?
isn't it something to do with the GT having two oil pressure sensors or something? on high and one low? its come up before i know that, might be worth having a search in this section!
they came out of a 1.0 K reg (cl i think), definatly 1.0 tho and not from a gt
and mines a L reg? does anyone acualy know what the bleeping means? im guesing its a warning of some sort? i am really pleased with my new rev counter tho its just a shame about the noise it makes
the first polo i ever owned was a mk2 country squareback, and when it finally came to rest it made a realy scary buzzing noise before loosing all its oil, but im sure mines fine

100% pikey but 100% simple!
You have to earth them IIRC.
The GT's oil pressure switches go off at a different pressure to the SPI's, you should be able to get by with swapping your switches for the ones used in the GT I'd have though. They're colour coded, but I can't think off hand what colour the GT's ones are.
dont forget to quickly check your oil just in case it leaked at the same time...
but there are some cars where putting the revs in is just a nightmare. unplugging the sensor isn't foolproof (i seem to remember there were originally two to guard against both low AND high pressure), your best bet is to wait n wait n wait til you can find some for the right year of car
/i got lucky
/karlos didn't
if you tell me ya year, i'm selling some... they worked fine in my '91 CL
