9n seats wear quickly

Post by crinkle »

9n seats aint too great. The plastic on the right shoulder side is wearing (drivers) and one of the wires from the seat springs came through the seat. (I am 12 stone).

Recommending airbag friendly seat covers at about 40,000 miles. I see VW upgraded the seat fabric on newer polo.

No i've not had much bother with my seats, think one spring might be trying to make a break for freedom, but nothing too major.

I've done 42,000 on mine.

Spring started coming through at 53,000. Isn't this dangerous ? it ought to be under warranty. Not that i know much about crashes but it seemed like it's not a good idea to have bits of wire poking round under your leg during one.

The outer bolster on mine is starting to flatten out, but i'd say 9n's are no worse than other vw's Ive had.
I changed the bases on my 2 golf GTI's no probs, just a case of unclipping the fabric cover. The only thing that would complicate matters if anyone were to change them, is the airbag..
