Painting Dash and Dyeing Seats?

Post by Polo NI »

Hi, I dont like the gray look of my polo.. So I'm planning on painting the dash black and also looking into so way to dye the colour of my seats to black as I dont want to buy new one.

Has anyone had anyexperiance with this?
What Primer/Paint would you reccomend for the dash so that it wont just flake?
Can you dye your seats? Surely there is some way?
Does this sound like a stupid idea that I will f**k up?

Thanks for any advice that you may have.

Yes,

If you really want to change the interior look for some blue or red seats out of a sport.

Talk to a paint supplier or auto body shop or something of that nature re: plastic paints and primers, and as for the seats its not really that expensive to get a retrim done.

Thanks, should look into getting a re-trim. What colour of primer should I use on my gray dash that I want to turn black?

honestly mate I have no idea, I would have thought primers are neutral in colour. But maybe try google.com searching for various terms like painting my dash black ? :D

I got bored too and had my dashboard done not sure on waht paint to use but I know for sure we had to spend a lot of time sanding off that mottled finish it has.
What colour is the plastic is the darker or lighter grey?
Are your seats black or grey?
