Broken passenger chair--Need help fixing

Post by Jackthelad »

My passenger side chair's mechanism has broken, its a 9n 3 door, and its the system that lets people in/out of the back. All other parts are fine. Has anyone had this problem? If so how did you fix it or how much did it cost to fix? Any info would be a help. Thanks.

yeah I had the same problem, the solution is called 3 year VW warranty.....so take it back to the dealer if its under warranty and let them worry about it.

There are two cables connected into the lever inside the chair back... you can get to them by removing the chair back. At the bottom of the chair back there are some metal clips that can be straightened and this allows the chair back to lift up - CAREFULLY - from here you chould be able to find the broken cable. You might be able to buy the part from VAG, or you may be able to repair the damaged one. I got mine from a scrappy.

Good luck
