G40 Conversion

I'm the owner of a 1.4 8v mk4 polo and really want to swap engines for a g40 engine. however, in all my research very few engines have been available and have all been wrote off and are currently in scrappies. Does anyone here have any info on a place that deals with reconditioning vw engines, or any other info that could help me in my project? cheers marc

Nothing wrong with robbing an engine from a crashed G40.

However, it's not an easy conversion into a Mk4 1.4 from what I've heard. It is possible, but apparently it's a complete nightmare to do. There are other more effective engine conversions for a Mk4 shell which will offer you more power and be less difficult to come by.
