ABS/Braking problem

another abs problem in the polo

jus started the car with jump leads as i havent driven it for ages and the handbrake light is flashing together with the abs light staying constantly.

On startup there is a long beep aswell which is kinda of scary, anyone had this before or knows wot it could be

The lights flash and you get a beep when you try and drive with the handbrake on.

Could be that it's sticking on a bit, possibly a switch, cos you haven't driven it for a while.

cheers for the reply Del, didint really get to the root of the problem, it just went away after some driving lol.
i think it maybe was some dirty or somthing stuck in the brakes that caused it.
