The joys of BBS RXII's

Post by Redline »

Started my new refurb project of a set of 15" RXIIs today.

Just thought I'd share some photos of the evil corrosion:

Centres are in really quite good condition, but the rims are going to take some work.

They are not a world away from how mine look - I have three in an average condition, and one thats quite bad :(

Drives me nuts and as my mate Liam pointed out at E38 the damaged alloys let the whole car down no matter how much I clean and polish :? so I think it's time to get them seen to!

Damned things! :x

The short answer is, yes! But in order to keep the rims free of corrosion, simply don't lacquer the rims, just have them diamond- (or hand-) polished, then look after them with a bit of autosol or similar every couple of weeks or so with just a regular wash every week otherwise. Avoid using acidic wheel cleaners and you'll be OK :)
