Anyone know where to get a good second hand 5spd box for a 1.4CL 1997 thats 'crying' .... it has done 120,000 miles plus though and I don't want to get rid of it ?? Would a 1.4 16v unit fit in a 1.4CL 8v ???
The 1.4 16v box would fit however the gear ratios are very short, sure its alost 4000revs to 70mph in top as the early 1.4 16v rev'd past 7k. If I remember correctly the 1.4 8v redlines at 5.5k with the power tailing off sharply to the 6k limiter so you would lower your top speed by a fair bit.
