you'll regret getting -60mm springs if you want to get rid of that gap between the tyre and arch :P

I have to agree with Ben here. I've got a 60mm kit on mine and I regret not getting coilovers (which I'll probably end up getting in a few months).
yup i have to totaly agree there, ive got 60mm kit, its fine on the front but the back end sits up miles....

well i have a little bit of trouble with speedbumps and stuff and im only lowered 40mm on springs with 14inch standard volkswagon alleys. I thikn how low you can go depends on where you drive, id be mad to go lower what with all the lanes and potholes round my way. Also i go through london alot and its speedbump crazy in some places. Saying that theres a lady with a mk5 round ym way which is absolutely slammed on coilies i think with the funnkiest little teddy ebar style alloys. looks awesome, they seem to get about ok. I dunno. *back to corner*

I totally agree with LeMeph that it depends where you drive most. I do loads of back road driving so 60mm is low enough style wise but not too low so it grinds out everywhere. If I were in a town with no speed bumps i'd probably be on colies wound right down. If i were in a town with bumps everywhere i'd get hydraulics. Go too low and you'll regret it and same with not doing enough will make you regret it. Find a happy medium. Good luck anyway :-)

Alun, do you get any kind of scrubbing at all going round corners at a faster than average speed?

I only seem to on my o/s front mainly, it does on the n/s but not half as much...which i find strange.

If you're on a budget, check out eBay for springs and/or coilovers, you can grab a bargain let me tell you.

I used to have Mercedes and bought some brand new H&R lowering springs on there for 99p, yes really! Because the title of the item was different to that of the others!

I've just bought my first Mk4 2 weeks ago, still standard but already been in eBay and bought clear lights and a grill! I have the bug!
