VW CD Changer

Just bought a Gti (Yet to pick it up

)

It comes with a 6 CD Changer in the boot but will these handle MP3 CD's and if not does anyone recommend a Head Unit/ Changer that will handle MP3 CD's....

I can answer the first bit: no, the changer does not handle mp3 CDs. Sorry dude!

Mine is now redundant as I have an aftermarket headunit. Though it plays MP3/WMA and even DVD-A

errm i have a sony mp3 headunit! has the facility to hook a cd changer up2 it!

will the vw changer unit work with my HU or will i have to replace it for a sony changer

the vw changer will not work with an aftermarket headunit.

You'd have to check the dimensions of the original. If the new one was slightly smaller I'm sure you could modify it somehow, but not really if it was bigger. I'd rather have a CD changer under the passenger seat like in the Mk7, but the Mk5 (GTI anyway) doesn't have a lot of room under there
