Brake pedal noise

Post by beautyfiend »

Last used the car on Saturday morning- came to use it this morning (monday) and I think I've got a problem.... When I brake I get a weird grindy noise- it only happens after the pedal is pushed about half way in- slowing down doesn't make a noise but stopping does. The pedal feels weird too- a bit juddery.

Do you think the brake pads need replacing? How much do you think a garage will charge- Surrey area, nothing fancy just bog standard parts?

It's sods law, something always comes up when you've got absolutely no money  ...

know I can't fcuk about with the breaks though- don't fancy choosing a wall to slow me down.

Has the car been regulary serviced, because they would have changed the brake pads if they were on their way out.

BIZARRE

Ok- I posted the original post at about 5am this morning- gave a mate a lift to work. Used the car at about 10am and there is now no noise coming from brakes- it seems to be back to normal. ABS light stayed on for quite a while but it's now turned off...

OK, I'm really confused? Any ideas why it would make a noise then stop? Been in the car about three times since 10am and no noises???

Am I gonna die in a horrofic crash?
