airbag light

my GTI just hit 100K and the airbag light has come on,
i havent hit any thing or any one. any one got any suggestions to what this may be?

dodgy cables which can be repaired by swapping cars with mine

I had the same problem. 80K and the light pop up. With VAG cables it says the problem is the "Pre-Tensor" that pop up the airbag in case of acident (from te seat belt i guess)( Pre Tensor in portuguese, i donÂ´t know if its the same name in English).
OngarGTi is your light off now?
