Dammit I kerbed a rim :*-(

Post by Si_GTi »

Bit pissed off with myself really but it was totally my own stupid fault... parallel parking in a busy side street with traffic coming both ways - normally I won't rush these things but on this occasion I did and...

F**k

Its the front nearside rim. In the third pic you can see that the laquer has now been broken and lifted and at that one point there the corrosion underneath is now open to the atmosphere. I think I just wiped a strong £50 off the resale value!

Si, keep an eye out of a single BBS RXII alloy with no curbing on and do a switch. Then with the one you have just kurbed you can have a go at refurbing it and sell it on for a possible profit.

Worth a try!

Or you could just spend some money, get the kerbed bit buffed out and get the wheels refurbed, as they look a state just now.

Must take the look off your car with them looking like that.

Correct, they are a state :( but I'm in the process of sorting out a set of winter wheels to replace them, then either (a) they will go into storage until I can afford to refurb them next year, or (b) I will sell them in their current condition.

Haven't made my mind up yet

Shame you're not closer Si as I'm sure we could have come to some deal to swap your old rims for the ones I'm just about to finish refurbing.
