For the front badge it defo needs to be that part number I posted up. The original silver badge has the exact same part number printed on the back. Worth enquiring with eBay sellers the part number that is stamped on the badge they are selling to ensure you get the right one :)

As for the rear badge... just needs to be the correct measurement in terms of width. On the Polo GTi (and other 6n2 models) it is just a shade over 110mm across the centre of the badge.

Thanks, will continue my search!

Our local GSF didn't have rear black ones or either badge in chrome, so I'll have a go at asking ebay sellers about that part number, and if all else fails, get hold of more chrome ones and spray them!

Yep, that'll fit.

The MK4 golf rear badges are exactly the same size as ours.

Right, rear badge is sorted, does anyone know if the front badge fits on any other vw cars and if so, which ones? Might make it easier to find. Otherwise I will be spraying!

Just recieved my new black rear badge this morning, now how do I seperate it so I can spray the plastic backing bit? I can't see much of the back at the moment because theres a big sticky pad on it!

Take the sticky pad off and you'll see 6 bits of plastic, they've been melted to hold the badge together.

Basically all you have to do with either a screwdriver or stanley knife is cut/break the edges enough for you to seperate the front from the back.

Badge all seperated, strangely 3 of the melted bits came off really easily and the other 3 took ages!

Picking up flash red paint today for the backing plastic, but does anyone have any suggestions about the best kind of black spray paint to use for the front badge?

If you could send me a silver backing for the rear badge that would be great (don't worry about a price). I'll just take the OEM Black VW logo off the badge I got now and stick it on top 8)

Image

^^^ That's exactly what I'm aiming for but obviously colour coded :)
