ticking time bomb in my car!!!

Post by SEXKITTEN »

Hi guys!............

Does anyone else have a ticking noise coming from their dash area...nr radio/climatronic unit.

it starts when key goes in to ignition, and is pretty much constant from then on. not too bothered as i just increase the volume on the stereo.

Is it likely to be the heater box, with a sticky flap, as Mercedes seem to suffer from the same?

I also get a noise about 15-20secs after switching the engine on. Sounds like a crunch or how should i put it... a fart.

Anyone else get this?

I did have this problem but its now sorted and silent again.

Your correct about it been the heater box, but you just need to decide if ya want to bother sorting it out.

MIne was proper doing my head in so i bit the bullet and had it sorted. £80 for the new box thing and then £60 labour!

No noise though now so i'm pretty happy!

Actually my Fiesta used to make a small "click" every 8 seconds or so depending on where the heater dial was set. Apparently this was normal
