Ignition lead order for 1043cc engine

Post by Ian_B »

I have been changing the ignition leads on a vw polo fox 1993 1043cc engine. I got distracted whilst doing it and fear I may have messed up the plug order. The Haynes manual does not show this information. Looking at the distributor cap in situ, just below the distibutor cap clip as you look from the front of the car I will call plug lead as "A" and continue in a clockwise direction "B", "C" etc I hope this is clear
Can anyone please match up this to the spark plug position on the engine.
I believe the firing order of the engine is 1 - 3 - 4 - 2 (1 being the cambelt end of the engine) with the plug lead position on the distributor cap.
I have done a searchon the web but without any luck Thanks[/img]

Hi
Thanks for that info. Running fine now. :D Really surprised the Haynes manual does not supply that sort of info, although maybe I`m not, I`ve noticed most of these "car specific" manuals tend to be based off a generic model
