Rear washer broken? Anyone else had the same?
My Polo's rear wash wipe has stopped working. The motor works fine and the pump works on the front and sounds fine when I try to wash the rear but sadly no liquid gets to the rear. Has anyone else had the same? My mate used to work at VW and thinks from memory that the pipework runs up the A post and along the edge of the head lining. He suggested getting a new run of pipe and attaching it to the old one in the engine bay so it could then be pulled through from the back by the existing one. Seems to be a blue stain and strong screenwash smell on my rear seat towards the N/S but when I removed the quarter card all appeared to be in order and no puddles anywhere. Can't think where its leaking without being seen. Nothing in the boot or under the car so where's it going?
Thought about removing the wiper all together. Stylewise I'd love to but doing 30k a year function is my priority. Any ideas where it could have gone would be appreciated so I can look and can anyone confirm the route that the pipe takes through the cabin? Thanks in advance

Think your right coz I've just done the same! Thought they were possibly the fuel pipes but these must run underneath. VW are obviously more safety concious than my old pug 106!willy g wrote:HI Sam ,
Im sure the pluming for the rear wash goes down a channel next th the passenger door underneath the carpet , and not through the headlining seem to remember seeing it whilst fitting my amp.
I had exactly the same problem. In mine (same car as yours) it had disconected over the rear passenger side seat. This accounted for the puddle under my rear passenger seat and in the footwell. Me and my dad took out the door panel and it had just disconnected behind that. Didn't take long, hope you sort it.

Well I'm going to strip the rear seats and quarter card out for a further inspection. Have thought about de wipering it but still not keen as I use it a lot on the motorway where I spend 2k per month! Plus if I de-wiper it I'm too much of a perfectionist. I'd have to remove the pipework and modify my wiper stalk. Couldn't have a button on the end of the stalk that did nothing. If somethings there in my opinion it needs to work. Also want to find where the water is because I don't really want the corrosive screen wash eating away at my inner quarter if I can avoid it.
