GTI Alarm and Central Locking Issues!!

Post by Brock »

Has anyone had problems with their central locking not working from their key fobs? Both my key fobs are failing to lock / unlock my doors through central locking.

It also appears my alarm is not being initiated as I'm unable to use the key fobs.

Any ideas would be appreciated folks.

Can't help you there as I got an aftermarket alarm. Although it is total crap and I also have problems trying to lock the car with the key fob

Had a similar problem, they can go out of sync if you press the button too many times, like if the battery's going.

This link help me:

I've had a couple of issues myself where the central locking has decided not to work.

Turned out to be a case of climbing through the boot at one stage!

There should be a way of programming the key. Might need to go to a main dealer though.

As a though are your windows working OK?. I've recently had problems with my drivers side switch (water) and it totally goosed the central locking and alarm. One new switch later and all is as it should be :D

I have the same problem mith my lupo gti, inside the fob the piece of metal that should touch the battery to make a connection comes loose, just bend it back toward the battery and it works a treat!
