Post by J-GTi »

Hi all,

Just wondering did all the GTi's deffinatly come with heated mirrors cause if they did mine aren't working !?!

Anyone had this problem before or know what i should do to fix them?

from the spec list these were standard fitment on all Gti's "Body colour electric adjustable heated door mirrors"

I assume they work in tandem with the heated rear screen i.e you need to push the button for the heated rear screen, which also activates the heated mirror elements.

My car is garaged every night so I haven't found the need to see if they work !

Yup as above you need to activate the rear screen heater for the wing mirrors to also heat up. You'll know they are working when the steam starts to rise off them on a cold morning 8)

click on your specific model here: http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/R ... 045&page=7

then select "equipment and options" to see what the standard spec was. It should be listed if the car has it.

Yeh he did, and told me it was my fault cos i cut the corner!!!!!! The f*ckin corner was 50-100m back! And i was almost on the gravel to the left of me so i knew for a fact it wasn't me straying! It was just his attitude that pissed me off so much!

Gonna go to the breakers on sunday and see if i can find a red mirror! Fingers crossed i can!!

can i just ask a wingmirror-related question?

my passenger one demists faster than my drivers one, and they are both a bit slow, plus i've never really seen steam, are they supposed to be quick? does this mean mine are a bit past it?

thanks

When demisting, mine take a few minutes to gradually clear, but generally speaking, a mile down the road they have cleared up nicely :)
