Changing My Bulbs

Post by GT/TDI »

Hi all,

Basically i have a 9n GT, want to upgrade to these
http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/prodtype.as ... istory=cat The first one there.

Anyone else done this? is it really as simple as swapping the bulbs over?

Anyone notice a difference over the halogen ones?

Cheers

i found it to be a pain in the arse on my 1.2 (which is probably the smallest engine giving most room in the engine bay!!)
imo i think you'l need the bumper off to get the lights in correctly. i need to take mine off to get mine set right as they blind people

yeah it looks a right pain in the arse to get in there, i took the covers off but i would not fancy doing it.

Asked my local garage they said they could do it.

It's a tight squeeze but can be done with everything in place (i've only ever seen a VW mech do it though lol)

Other wise, its a bumper off jobbie! There is a guide in the DIY forum.

Its not really hard in my opinion and I dont even have tiny hands. lol

Basically, remove the rubber cap, and unclip the loom.

Then there is two handle type things, both opposite each other. They are iirc both vertical. Bacially this twists either to the left or right and you should hear a click. Bulb should simply come out now.

Hope this helps 8)

Not quite so easy as that with a diesel engine!

I was gonna say... what are you guys doing taking the bumper off...

I thought it was really easy to do mine, altho a few times there has been phone calls to a certain mister Pettsy asking for help... 8)
