SACHS performance suspension

Post by smokeGTI »

Hi,

As my stock shocks are on their way, am looking for a set
of replacement shocks.

Just don't want to be too much stiffer than stock GTI's shocks.
So was just wondering if any body tried Sachs gas shocks?
Any good compare to our stock set?

Cheers,

George

Got them on mine. Not happy with them at all. Ride is unstable, very bouncy.

the springs ticki has with the sachs shocks are Eibach sportlines -45/50 front, -30/35 rear.

Why don't you use SACHS performance kit (30mm) may be sportline is too hard for SACHS shocks.BTW Is SACHS performance kit fit for polo gti 6n2?

The 30mm performance kit is ment for 16V, but sure it can fit in
to GTI, but as for the lowering, it would be a matter.

Lower 30mm for 16V version, means lesser on GTI,
I'm really interested to know how it behave on GTI.

yea i'm curious too as to how the sachs shocks peform, came across some oil filled ones and gas filled ones on AVS... mind you i think im gonna go for the Bilstien OE shocks cuz from what i'm told they're slightly stiffer but still comfortable.. its just a suggestion but i'm probably not gonna go as low as you guys, im gonna go with the eibach pro springs with 30mm drop cuz i use my car daily and keep loading my car up with ppl and other stuff..

That is a very informed and wise choice in my opinion.

The Bilstein B4's are what you are after, and work very well with the Eibach pro-kit springs. It should give very good handling whilst retaining extremely good ride comfort.

:D cheers for that... yea i'm pretty certain i'm gonna with that setup although the total cost of the shocks and springs altogether is about the same price as a set of budget coilovers! but like i said i use my polo as a daily runner with excessive loads frequently so it wouldn't be practical.
i'm not fussed about adjustable ride height really... but low would be nice especially if i had a 3 door!

Same here, but as my info's Sachs gas shocks are slightly softer
than bilstein gas one.
