the sdi has no power as danny states. its also heavier.
the 1.4 petrol isnt fast but its light and has probably similar outputs to the diesel.
insurance is wacky.

Nope, it's the same with the GT TDI's, there's about 3 different ones.

They're all 1.9 but there's a 115bhp, 130bhp and 150bhp :D

Diesels have traditionally had lower output per volume than petrols and this still rings true now.

Modern diesels have better power (Audi make a 2.0 with 170 bhp for example) thanks to turbos and fancy fuel injection. As mentioned before, the SDi is not one of these!!

I have 1.9DL which is naturally aspirated and I can officially confirm it wouldn't be capable of pulling the skin off a custard! But hey I get 475 miles out of a tank! Now who's laughin

My ST200 puts a smile on my face every time. 205bhp v6 mmmmmmmm. Sounds heavenly. Now for sale sadly but hey if I need a grin I'll borrow my fiances Fabia vRS. Easily as addictive but cheap diesel too. My ST blows £55 worth of shell v-power in 300 miles!!! Fun but pricey hence she's on her way. Considering getting a Superb 2.5 V6 TDI and having it chipped coz they have around well in to the 200bhp figures and well over 300 torque. Not seen any modded yet so thats my next project hopefully! Until then I'll be cruisin with the tortoises counting my saved fuel money.
