Will these Rims fit?

Post by shantybeater »

I plan on trying to keep my gti fairly standard apart from subtle changes. These Rims look like the standards apart from one size bigger :o ?

Will they fit? and does anyone know where can i get hold of them?

yea these are the same rims im rolling on and would fit with some low profile tyres without any problems (195/40/16).. mind you they're very rare and from what i've seen on this forum, demand for them is high! :? so expect to pay top dollar otherwise u can try breakers/scrapyards asking if they have any mk Golf Cabrio's...

Although that auction is for one rim only, they do appear on eBay as a full set of four every now and again. They do fit, as above, expect to pay in the region of £300-400 depending on condition and interest from other buyers :)

That wheel in the auction looks alright, I guess

They sell for quite a lot of money on ebay, regardless of condition. And they're rare, too. Refurbish your current wheels, and you'll end up saving more money, and you don't have to spend money on expensive 195/40/16 tyres, as they either come without tyres or tyres that will cause problems.

Yeah, tyres are a pain for them really.

With 195/40/16 being a fairly rare size, there isn't much choice. And the ones that are available tend to to be performance ones, which means expensive.

Dunlop SP9000s for mine came to about £300 fitted.
