Problem wid heaters

Post by vw55raz »

hey all, my 1.3 polo has got the worst heaters ever, it would take like at least 10-15 minutes for the front screen to clear up, the back ones are like 5minutes, and also when i switch it to 4, it feels like its on 2, its not blowing enough heat out. What can be the problem??

A busted heater matrix,,,,quite common on mk4s and an awful job.

Mine did this and it ended up being a blocked pollen filter which is located at the back of the bonnet above the bulkhead under a plastic shield. Try removing it and then your fan should be running faster. If it is the problem then a new pollen filter is about £12 from VW!

Hope this helps

No pics but the pollon filter is located where the windscreen wiper motor in in a black box. basically directly under the windscreen. you need to pull the grey plastic trim up a bit to access it. If you cant find it might be worth investing in a Haynes manual!
