CD Multichanger performance on lowered cars?

Post by mk4 glx 1.6 »

To those whom have lowered their gti, and still use the OE Multichanger and headunit, does it still function perfectly without skipping or any other adverse effects :?:

I am not into ICE, but like my music in the car (and it can often pacify the kids :D ).

Please no suggestions of upgrades, i'm perfectly happy with the sound produced  . Well ok, bass could be a little deeper, but I can't sacrifice any of my boot space !

Thanks,

Marc.

Mine is lowered 50mm on Eibach springs, and yeah the multichanger still works fine :)

As you know Marc mine is lowered on FK coilovers and is down 60mm. No worries here, it hasn't missed a beat!

As for the changer itself I'm planning to remove mine from the boot, flog it on eBay and purchase a dash-mounted OE multichanger instead. Like you I need the boot space and it sometimes gets in the way. Plus I don't use the cubby hole under my GAMMA headunit so its win - win :)

Cheers for the replies fella's. Glad to hear performance isn't impaired and that it can cope with being jolted around a bit more !

Si, yes the changer does get in the way I agree. The dash mounted changers are very good and so convenient. I retro-fitted one to my bora, and when I sold that, the Passat already had one.

The like the bit under the stereo for space. I still got my multichanger in the boot even though it's redundant. Keeping it for when I eventually sell the car...if I ever do that is
