What brakes go straight on to the mk5 GTI's driveshafts. I'v heard G60's go on but is that a straight swap?

yes G60 brakes are a direct fit for the gti. You just need the caliper carriers and 280 discs for the conversion. The gti pad is the same as the G60.

I believe only the 16v and gti hubs. Easy way to check, if your caliper is bolted to a carrier, which is in turn bolted to the hub, then your ok. If the caliper is bolted directly to the hub, then it wont work.
Quick tip peeps, i bought passat vr6 caliper carriers which are a hell of a lot cheaper than g60 ones. They are exactly the same though. I paid £26 for calipers and carriers for a vr6 delivered on ebay.
