Buying New Springs, whats the best and where From???

I have just bought a set of 17" alloys for my Polo 9N and as i suspected it sits way too high. i want to lower it but i am unsure aout how much to lower it by and whats the best product for the job.

I have been recomended by someone that 40mm would be suitable, but a i dont know whether i simply need new springs, or new springs and shocks, or something completely different.

If anyone would be able to advise me on this i would be gratefull

uprated shocks and springs is probably the best.

Koni yellow adjustable shocks and Eibach springs is a good combo

if coilovers are out of the question!

Places like German Ebay, Awesome GTI and Venom motorsport are good places. No idea on price, guess it would be atleast Â£250-300
