anyone know if a mk5 trunk lid would fit a mk4??? i got the mk5 lights on and im guessing it would, same car and all?
and also whats the dash like to swap?

you can get the nk5 lights on a mk4??? i didnt think ti was possible!

The light cluster shape is near identical. Hence the number of Mk4s running Mk5 rear lights.

Yeah as above... did you get the mk5 headlights on or rear lights? If headlights, do you have any pics?

oh s**t yeh you said trunk, i thought you meant headlights
What a t**t.
And im fairly vertain the entire boot lid wont fit from a 6N2 to a 6N because theyre slightly different shape if memory serves. i were lookign at two back to abck once, one being mien because i was thinking of doing the same thing. IIRC the sorta corners on the bottomare slighty curved out and where the boot widens is higher up. I think.
Someone correct me if im wrong its early and i havnt had my weetabix yet!

You could cheat and buy a mk5
I think the light change is worth doing but the tailgate will look odd. Can only imagine it to turn out looking like a cut and shut of a mk4 & mk5!

Also a mk5 has the numberplate on the bumper instead of in the hatch.

yeah i meant the rear hatch lid, im sure it would swap over....
that was the idea to lose the numberplate recess cos i cant be arsed to weld it up

When you sai trunk some reson seems people thought you was on about bonnet I think. Just call it the boot, much easier

Why pointless??? he bought it totalled and in need of a lot of work anyway,,,,it looks fantastic and is pretty unique,,more so due to the 1.8t its running.
