help starting issues

Post by viperphill »

hey guys,.. after months of my coupe not wanting to start i finally fought id resolved the issue. yesterday i replaced the dizzy with a brand new item from gsf, including a hall sender, rotar arm and a dizzy cap. the car would start and run like a dream.

today a diff story,..i decided to run her around the block a few times to get her moveing(stood still for 6months) upon start up and the first 10mins she was fine,..running nice,.responding to the throttle good,..would stop and go great,...then she started to loose power and pick back up,..only for a few seconds,..after which she started to violently kangaroo, i was being thrown out of my seat literally.

i parked her up and she cut out on me,..so after 2 failed attempts to star,..she started but would hunt from between its norm idle and about 50-100rpm,..nearly cut out then start back to its norm idle. after a few mins she ran sweet again,.. i took her around the block 2times an it lost power again... so i pulled up and then she cut out,..now she wont even start, only turns over!!!.

this is the list of new parts ive replaced since then so with the ncar not moveing there al still new:

Heavy Duty battery
vw Fuel pump
Fuel filter
oem HT leads
spark plugs
gsf coil
gsf Dizzy(with hall sender,rotar arm,dizzy cap)
vw blue temp sender

im off to gsf tomorrow for a new fuel pump relay,.other than that i cant think of what to do

please help, one vw owner to many others, ive been trying to sort this since august!!! :( :(

Get a test lamp or multimeter. Take one of the wiring plugs off the injector and one of the wires should be supplying power for about a second when the ignition is turned on. If it is then your injectors are blocked and if its not then its a wiring/electrical problem.
