modern hondas are old mans' cars - which is probably why samuel has one, from reading his posts he's either 90 years old, or a young fogey who enjoys nothing better than to sit down infront of his TV watching Heartbeat with a a nice blanket on his knee and a steaming horlicks in his hand ;)

Seriously Sammy boy, your limp wristed rants are tedious and hold no truth. Mods, please ban this idjeet!

second point the new civic is better built than the 1999-2001 polo...as a matter of fact it is better built than the current r32/gti...and i should know as my cousin is a vw sales executive...and has his pick of any vw model that he wants...

thirdly my 1.8 is much quicker than the 1999-2001 gti...it can pretty much own most vehicles at the traffic lights...
  PMSL!! get back to earth boy.
own most vehicles at the lights, are you having a giraffe??? from all the sites i have checked the 0-60 is around 8.3 - big deal hardly anything to boast about. I have had quick cars over the last few years, s3, r32 to name a few and your car is hardly anything to write home about.

by the way, your big 1.8 is pumping out 138 bhp, i think you will find that it isnt that much quicker than a gti.
i have also travelled in quick cars...and i am not refering to relics such as the previous r32...or some out dated s3...

so i know what i am on about when i say that the civic is fast...
Samuel Image Get your coat mate!

You speak some pish! Your comparing a 1.8 16v civic to a 3.2 V6!

Civic - 140bhp, 0-62 is 8.9s (that made me laugh), 127mph

R32 - 250bhp, 0-62 is 6.2s, 155mph

That is incomparible. Its still not as quick as the old Polo GTI let aloan the new Polo GTI.

Old - 125bhp, 0-62 is 8.7s, 127mph

New - 150bhp, 0-62 is 8.2s, 135mph

So NO, your civic will not own most off the lights as you like to put it!!

Get the Type R if you wanna go quick in an ugly Honda mate

Every time a valid argument is raised it all just descends into anarchy again. Enough :|
