Engine is really quiet!

Post by HB9n »

Iv got a 9n Polo 1.2, car is mint n drives well but the engine sounds so soft. Sometimes I dont even relise how fast im going until i look at the dash, its too smooth.
Whats an easy way to make the engine sound a bit louder?

Not that hard to fit an induction kit, model specific kit is easier to fit than a universal one though.

Wow, is yours a 1.2 12v or 6v? 55 or 65? because I pulled up at supercharged spaniel's house the other night and he thought I had been tinkering because it sounded so good.
I love the sound of the engine, sounds really great. Oh, with you being new to driving, you're probably not using the full range of the engine, take that baby to 4k and see if you still need an induction kit.

if you want the tick over noise go for an exhaust, the induction kit will only make a noise when you put your footdown.

I think i'll get an induction Kit and an exhaust. So what exhaust do i go 4? I want something easy to fit that does the job.

if you want noise, then get a custom made exhaust.

Cat back system, with no centre box, and with the smallest back box you can find, you will rumble even at idle :P
