Dirty broken GTi

Post by neilw »

My car has decided to take revenge for me not cleaning it for about 10 weeks by stopping my electric windows and door lock button from working from switches on the drivers side door. Really annoying, I can hear noises when i Press the buttons (CL pump and window relays) but nothing happens! Go to put the window down using the passenger side switch and it all works fine.

Any Ideas?

I want to get out and clean it, but I've just moved into my first home before xmas and have about a million jobs that need doing! And the only day light hours I have at the moment are at the weekend, as I work 9 till 5. May just have to let the dirt build up until we get some light in the evenings, when do the clocks go forward?

I can't offer any advice on a solution i'm afriad Neil.

But i'd like to congratulate you in moving in to your first place. Welcome to the world of having a noose round your neck.

If you think finding time to clean your car is difficult now, try adding children into the equation !

Cheers. I dont think thats the problem though, last night I realised that the wing mirror adjuster dosent work either. Must be an electrical fault somewhere. Im going to try the old disconnect the battery trick, just incase that makes any differece.
