I have man flu *sniffle* so I'll be spending the next couple of days with a Sinex jammed into my nostril.

I saw these in Aldi's yesterday, right next to the bottled water

I was looking for cheap axle stands in Aldi, I'm not a filthy pikey. Honest. Also "Disco Biscuits" are slang for Ecstacy. I'm no druggie though, I wouldn't stand for that sort of nonsence.

Where shall I start?

About 2 months ago I got this scraping noise from the driver side arch. Then a month ago the wheel bearing in that arch broke, luckily I got it replaced under guarantee. When I picked my car up from the garage they said "everything's sorted with the bearing, but there's another noise. We think it's the diff". Two other mechanics said the same and because of the that (and the history the GTi gearbox has) I got it changed last weekend.

5 minutes after picking the car up the whining/scraping noise on acceleration starts again. So, it turns out the gearbox was OK after all and now it's a mystery was to what's wrong :( , although I now think it could be something to do with the water pump. I'm waiting on more details off forum member 'SEXKITTEN' as she had a problem with it and described the noise I'm getting.

Sorry 'bout the mini essay-like reply
Bloody hell

Hope you find the problemo soon, it's so annoying whenyou can't get to the bottom of it, especially when you have had 'experts' look at it
