Not really a huge concern of mine, as im completely skint.

Just wanted to know what the term 'remap' means, as in some guy had his engine remapped.

the forum seemed pretty quiet, so i thought id throw this in there.

basically your settings on your car are ''mapped'' for your car to follow.

re-mapping adjusts these settings by improving/modifying the map to improve economy/performance etc. Usually the air/fuel ratio/volume are adjusted.

It uses the original equiptment, rather than ''chipping' which adds a chip to the ECU with the settings in.
All cars are mapped conservatively due to cars being looked after in different ways (i.e. cars may not be serviced on time, poor fuel used etc) so they are mapped to allow for this.
Usually the company remapping will say it is best to get the car serviced regularly or always on time.
