Rear Heater Problem

Hi Guys

I appear to be having trouble with the rear heater on my polo tdi sport.
When its icy and I turn on the rear heater on after starting up to clear the rear screen, the light on the switch starts flashing and the heater doesn't work.
If i turn the switch off then back on it will work fine.

have you checked the connections on the back of the switch?

No not yet does it just flick out?. I have checked the fuses and they all seem ok.
