Alarm LED in door

Pretty pointless, I know, but I was thinking of replacing the red alarm LED in the driver's door with a blue one. Does anyone know whether the existing LED is of the type that flashes or is there some circuitry that makes it flash?
In other words if I install a standard blue LED will it flash? I don't think you can buy flashing blue LED's.

I'm sad to report to you that my friend has changed his red LED to cobalt blue and look really cool. I haven't seen any other Polo with this mod though. The problem with this mod is that the LED is red for a reason not to be stating to the obvious. But it does look very nice though

I've had it done for ages... It's a top, easy to do mod.

Plus people think you've got a bassass alarm!
