What do you regret most?

Post by Speedlaw »

Car wise, that is.

I think the worst thing I've done (in terms of regretting it later on) was skimping on suspension. I think it lasted about 6 months, then I knew I'd did the wrong thing by not getting the right stuff right away. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Other than that... Not much really. You?

I regret selling all my styling mods off my 6N when I moved to Mallorca (I sold my Kamai Mesh Grille with RS2 Badge, my trimmed VR6 Chin Spoiler and all my lights (hella black rear lights, clear front indicators and black side repeaters))...

Then coming back to the UK 4 months later and buying it all again!

D'oh!

buying another polo.. when I was so damn in love(still am) with a audi A2...

Don't get me wrong, I am really content with the polo, it was a good choice I think, only I am starting to get tyred of the silver, which I had on my previous polo too ; should have gone for black...

but whenever I see an audi A2, my hart starts beating like crazy. Love that car. Just imagine it in black, with nice 17" wheels(like polished TT rims), dropped all the way to the ground with airride

I used to feel the same way about the Merc A-Class!

I SO nearly bought one, and I spec'd 17" AMG Alloys, Dark Gunmetal Metallic Grey with Red Leather Interior and Tinted Windows *spoot*

That was many, many years ago though!

I love the A2's  Especially the Sport models, nearly went for one a while back before I crashed my 9n and it all ended it tears

Still love the 9n :P But the interior quality doesn't come close to the A2 anymore :(

Selling my Porsche 914 back in '99 :( . I wish I still had it !.

I had it for 9 years and the body was starting to rust quite badly. It needed at least new sills, floor pans and a few other bits plus obviously a full respray. It was a good genuine original car but would have cost a lot to put right.

Now 914 prices seem to be on the up. I wish I'd kept it and slowly got it sorted. It was the best and most fun car I've ever owned or driven.

I think the worst thing I've ever bought for my car was a set of Ring fog lamps from Halfords. This was a while ago now, I decided Minty looked a wee bit basic with no foglamps so I went out and got a set.

£25 they cost, and they took ages to fit cos I had to make custom brackets for them out of bits of metal I found in the garage.

Fitted in January 2001, removed in August for a set of real lamps. By which time the Ring lamps were really quite rusty. They're now in a shoebox in my garage. Anyone who wants them can have them if they pay postage. Brackets are still attached.

OLD IMAGE ALERT

Buying a Ford for the Mrs

If I told you everything I'd be here all day

*Small Snippet* When the car was just 6 days old a tyre blew out causing the car to mash itself up on the central reservation..... *Small Snippet*

Trust me it gets worse!
