Going to look at a G40....

Post by olop_chris »

Sallys G40 infact.

Now im sure she'll tell me most things when i go see her...but can someone give me a run down on things to look out for? or to expect in the near future.

Im aware of the charger situation, and the seals etc, but is there anything like the gearbox/clutch? (gti shivers)

Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

i think your just about there really. the charger is probably one of the most important things to look for. also check to see when the cambelt was done, you don't want one like mine was when i bought it:

apart from that, check service history add up, check for overspray etc. also check for any water in the boot under the carpet! mine suffers from that and i'm yet to find where it comes from!

but all in all, it looks like quite a straight car! good luck, you'll love it!

thanks for that, i remember you posting about your cambelt doug! it was done at 70ishk miles, and is now on 110k so should be okay for the time being.

I went to look at it last night anyways, and it is all mint and spot on....just as Sally described and i'm very happy with it :)
