hi everyone
my friend is having a lot of trouble with her 94 L reg 1.0 polo squareback ands i am wondering if you guys can help,
basically the car cuts out at random times and wont start and then it will be fine for a bit so far we have changed the plugs alternator and battery and it still does it she had a similar problem last year and we changed the dizzy and it sorted it now we used a second hand one so its possible it could be this again but could it be anything else as its getting really annoying now,
has anyone got a spare dizzy for one of these cos i think its gotta be next to be changed but if you think it could be anything else any advice would be greatly appreciated
thanks elmo

hmmm,
i would check inside the dizzy cap, there maybe a build up of moisture in there. but to be honest, i'd imagine that would cause a missfire and not cutting out.
does it occur at a specific temperature? could it be coming off choke too soon?
Hopefully we will be able to point you in the right direction!

hi doug thanks for your help
i did have a look at the cap and rotor arm both seemed ok so i've ruled that out
as for the choke im not sure but it doesnt always happen when its cold it can be up to temp with a normal warm engine if you see what i mean, as for a specific temp not sure really ill get her to look for it when it happens but it does seem pretty random lol it could be fine for a day and then just die all of a sudden
cheers elmo
