Can anyone recommend a decent one for £200-£300max..?
Is there any point.. how much better are they than the ones on the mobile phones?
Thanks!

get yourself a tomtom 700 from ebay, does everything a 910 can do for half the money apart from the stupid and pointless ipod connection

The TomTom One is pretty good and comes in at under £200.

Agreed!
I bought the previous version for the princely sum of £50. It only has the UK maps on it, but it works seamlessly. Add the PocketGPSWorld speed camera database, and you have an effective speed camera detector.
Halfords have a promotion for TomTom GPS's at the moment
here .

I have had TomTom for Palm, Windows Mobile 5 and Symbian S60 (Nokia) over the years and they've all been great.
I've got a Nokia N73 now which runs it perfectly.

TMC is ace...
My mate has it on his Pioneer 7" TFT/DVD with Sat Nav
Shows you where all the traffic jams are using the RDS data feature of FM Radio.
