Lowering

Post by LowPoloCo. »

Hey guys,

Just wondering, im looking for a 60mm drop when funds allow, but hopefully this year,

I was basically wondering, are coilovers my best bet? ANY SUGGESTIONS? or can any of you recommend a non-coilover suspension kit? i havent consider springs, as i'd need new shocks with a 60mm drop?? is that right?

many thanks

also, i'll chuck this on the end of this topic, im considering lowering it on the steelies she's riding on now. and im thinking i might paint my wheel trims either Diamon Black (so they match the car) or a nice white, aslong as i keep them clean.

anyone ever done this? and what colour? white or black? id be leaving the VW badge in the middle probably

For the wheel trims m8 id paint em black, dats what iv done n it looks mint, white ones would show up with dirt pretty quick so stick with black.

There is no 60mm suspension kit! You'd have to buy a coilover kit to lower 60mm.

painting wheel trims is gay, if you do that you will then qualify as being a gay.

right, well thats the last thing id want is to be classed as 'gay'

1) im not taking the trims off and looking like a hire car, because pressumably in order to get them polished, theyd have to come off?

2) buying alloys is not a consideration at the moment, seeing as i have 85p in my bank account.

HB9n - have you got any pics of wat urs looks like on black trims please m8?

Coilovers it is then! there'll be some saving going on for me, whats the cheepest set possible, that would get me a 60mm drop? and im guessing its around a 4 hour job to fit them? got qouted £160 for new springs, so im guessing its similar with £40/hour?

cheers guys

A competent garage would be able to do it in 2 hours max. Backs are very easy to do, and fronts aint that hard to do either!

I Havnt got any pics just now, but basically they just look da same as the black alloys really. They dont look that bad at all. However mine arnt jet black theyre a very dark grey (almost black) just so thers no dramatic change in colour from what they used to be.
