My New Wheels Arrived!

Post by Bryony84 »

My new wheels just got delivered to my work!

I've been skint for the best part of 2 weeks but they are well worth it! Plus there was a guy from the garage that services the lorrys at work hanging around the warehouse when they arrived and he said he'll fit them for free whenever I want.

Now I just have to try to restrain myself from putting them on too early and risking the weather turning bad again... I'm so impatient!

They are summer wheels and are in very good condition thanks to a careful previous owner (u know who u are, lol). So not sure putting them on at the beginning of march is a great idea - when does everyone else normally get there summer wheels on? - This is the first time I've had a car on alloys!

Will get some pics anyway though when I get home.

I think its a bit over the top to take off your nice wheels at winter, got my new ones a few weeks ago and bunged em straight on, i'm just making a concious effort to clean them every few days

I very much doubt any more salt will be laid on the roads until winter 07, and that is the only element that could do any damage to their finish (apart from tar but you can't avoid that).

I don't have winter wheels, I think they are overated and hassle unless you have very expensive rims with a delicate finish.

I'm the same, although I'm just a lazy ass and cannot be bothered to have to jack each quarter to change the wheel twice a year!

mine have the diamond cut so I guess it would have been nice to do so but it's a little too late now!

Well after looking at them a lot this evening, i'm thinking I'm going to just get the garage to put them on on monday after the service cos they won't bother charging me and it saves me jacking it up in the little space i have in our garage!

The loose theory is:

* Summer wheels fitted when the clocks go forward in March.

* Winter wheels fitted when the clocks go back in October.

But its just a theory in all honesty!

Good choice bry!, i'm in the same shoes, my car will look so nice when lowered but I need to purchase some lower profile tyres first, so its not going to be a cheap drop

I've now got the low profile tyres and wheels, I just need to find funds for my coilovers. Think this months spare money is going to go on my service and MOT on monday, and tax which has crept up on me!
