Replacement key

am after a spare key for my mk4 1998
i got the original, and can get a spare cut that would open the doors, quite cheap, but need to get one with a transponder in to work the ignition?
then get it programmed too?
anyone know a cheaper way to do this other than Â£70 i got quoted at a key cutting place?

i got one from timpsons for 25 quid
works everything so give them a try

is yours the'newer'type, or looks like an old key?

mine has that chip in it and cost me 25.
does everything.

was from a normal key cutting place in town.

70 is about what VW would charge.

have a look around.
