OK, so thinking of getting some 17's as well but have heard nightmare stories on this forum!

I don't understand why 17's would scrub with 205 x 40 x 17 profile on them. This is the same diameter as the stock tyres and only 10mm wider (and I'm sure the 16 inch standard wheels had 205's on them?) so the only reason left is because of the offset?

anyone had no scrubage with 205 40 17 tyres?

HI
Would these fit stright on my 9n,

205/40/17, 5 stud, stud diameter 100, ofset 35 :?

Would these be ok for my 1.4 or would they cause me any probs? if so what probs?or would they be a stright fit and not cause me any probs or underperformance?

Cheers :D

as far as I know 205x40x17 is almost exactly the same as 195x55x15 which is the sport alloy size. (+0.03%)

not sure on the offset of the standard alloy though - and how wide are your alloys?

Would they look daft, its been mentioned the 9n can look like a 4*4 :? Would I have to get my car lowered for the 17's to look good and to be appreciated or will it be ok unlowered and just left as norm?
