Clicking noise when in reverse

When I'm reversing I can hear a clicking noise which disappears as soon as the car is put into a forward gear......

Doesn't appear to be anything caught up in the wheels...

Any ideas?

A mate of mine has this on his golf apparently it's the gearbox!!

Nothing to worry abouth though as it doesn't cause any other problems just the annoying sound

Yeh I thought it might be something to do with the gearbox as it only does it in reverse...Worries me that it might be a bearing on it's way out tho

Well I've been listening to the noise this weekend and it would appear to be come from the drivers side as when I have the drivers window open I can hear the ticking but when I only have the passengers side window down I can't hear the noise....

Thinking it could also be a wheel bearing but surely it would also make a noise when moving in a forward gear...
