3 questions

Post by G-Unit »

Hello guys, I can pick my new polo up in my garage in a big month now and I have some questions.

1. can you remove the grilles on your doors that cover the speakers in your doors, without moving the whole doorpanel?

2. What's the size of the speakers in the front doors.

3. Can somebody tell me how I can place the cable from my batterie to the trunk of the car.

Thx

G-Unit:

1. No, you need to remove the whole door panel! See here.

2. The size of the speakers in the front doors are 17cm as far as I can remember. I'll try and check this for you. You may need to make some spacers for the speakers - but there is plenty of room for this.

3. My cable runs from the battery, behind the ABS unit (right hand side under the bonnet) and then through a grommet which already has a black cable running through it. This then gets you into the passenger's footwell. (Or drivers footwell in yours?) and then runs along the side of the car to the boot.

Hope all this helps!

Mole, I noticed you have posted some pic's of how you had places your cable from the batterie to the trunk. Could you mail me those pictures with some explanations?

Thx a lot for all the other advice.

You can read moles writeup here of how he wired his fogs but also showing where he found the hole in his bulkhead (another reference point looks to be just under the ECU)

Hope this helps :)
