just wunderin if anyone has put anythin outher than a gt or g40 in a 1000cc coupe. i wanted to put a 1.8 8v gti out of a mk2 but am not shour about the emissons as my car is an l reg so am lookin at a 2litre gti out of a mk3. should be a littel rocket :lol: any help wolud be nice thanks

someone once did a 1.8T in the back of a mk3 and they also made the thing rear wheel drive and tuned it to around 300bhp!!
now that was a beast!!

i don't think any of the mk2/3 engines will fit in without some serious (£££'s!) modifications

Everyone sticks with gt/g40's because they are a straight swop with minimum hastle.

so its not just a case of puttin it in and wierin it up. are the 8v engnine the same size do you no and im gessin the mounts are diffrent

You need an engine sub frame building to fit a big block engine into a mk1/2/3 polo.

if i got a full car could i mate the to subframes together. thanks for all your comments. :)

maybe, but i would think the golf has wider chassis legs to bolt the subframe to. If it was something that could be done easily and safely then i think it would have been done sooner!
