mcd install
mcd install
Hi guys,
Just bought a VW MCD for my car, so easy to install, literally did the whole thing in 2 minutes! However what i dont know is about setting up gyro, and gala settings. Usually i would use the VW NAVI forums, but they have been down for a week? have any of you installed a MCD in your cars, and what settings (for wheel size/angle etc) do i need to set for polo?

yeh, the one i have is the mcd (monochrome) to be honest i bought it even though i paid about what you can get the color for.
MCD Advantages in my opinion:
1. less likely to crash
2. Built in TMC (avoids traffic jams automatically)
3. all audio sources are available on the left, it did anoy me a little with the MFD
4. looks very OEM (because it is the OEM for sat nav in polos) <-- this one is a killer for me because i want to keep resale value high.
having said that you get a full color display with the MFD, which you can watch films tv ps2 etc on, so its horses for courses really?

I'm getting there now. I just gotta get hold of/order up two rear door cards for my 5 door polo that have speaker grilles in them, and the speaker brackets then im good to go. I got some OEM speakers out of another polo, so all thats left to do is the wiring (which is easy peasy) and fit the speakers - bout a couple of hours work. Ill keep you posted dude. - maybe even make a DIY guide
Cheers,
Alex
